We are looking for candidates to fill two positions on our hog farm. Duties include, but are not limited to, preparing and feeding alternative feeds, selecting and breeding gilts/sows, loading/unloading of feed and animals, recording of data, implement our bio-security and barn-hygiene plan and the processing of litters, tailored to the needs of individual customers. Completion of high school and at least two years of experience are required, as well as full mastery of the English language. The succesfull candidates are self-motivating, creative, work great in a team, and have leadership capabilities. Applicants should be Canadian citizens/permanent residents, or in the possesion of a valid Canadian work permit. Salary shall consist out of $15.00/hour for about 40 hours/week. Must be available on weekends off and on, and must have a valid driver's licence.

Job description includes, but not limited too, a.i. breeding, heat checking sows and gilts, pressure washing, maintaining computer records, etc. Successful applicant will need a minimum of 2 years experience as a swine breeding technician. Needed hog technician on finisher operation in Ponoka, AB. Must be able to perform maintenance duties and some record keeping. Some duties also include moving, weighting and pen washing. Wages depend on level of experience but starting at $15.11/hour. Housing might be available.

Sunterra Farms Ltd. is seeking experienced Swine Technicians to join their team both 9 km west of Acme, AB and 11 km East of Strathmore, AB. Candidates need to have at least 2 years swine experience. Positions in both the farrowing and breeding departments. Duties will include daily routines in said department, assisting with training new and existing staff members, be an active participant in problem solving sessions and to be a team player and help out whererever needed. We operate two 1200 sow farrow to wean, one 1600 sow farrow to isowean and 10 various size feeder barns located in North Central Alberta. Positions are full time. Salary is $14.65/hr for a 40 - 45 hour work week. A health benefit package is offered after 3 months.
